Vastu Shilp Shastra - An ancient construction technology

Modern World knows the Vastu Shilp Shastra as the Indian Architecture. Vastu Shilp Shastra is one of the oldest construction technologies of world since Vedic era. It belongs to "Rig Veda & Aatharava Veda". In last millennium mainly north Indian form of Indian Architecture suffered a great deal due to several foreign invasions on India. Thanks to the vital force of genuine and inherited craftsmanship of sompuras and few others for preserve that building tradition.

God Vishwakrama was the compiler of Vastu Shilp Shastra. Vastu Shastra is a combination of the five basic elements of nature i.e. Earth (Prithavi), Water (Jal), Air (Vayu), Fire (Agni), Space (Akash). And scientifically balance them with the "Vastu" & Cosmic energy for spiritual and physical health and prosperity.

Fundamentals of the Vastu Shastra

Very deep knowledge of vastu shastra is essential for the construction of traditional temples. It is so much useful in commercial and residential construction also. Although in recent time most of professional vastu consultant has applied only the simple norms related to directions (like kitchen in south east or master bed in south west). They avoid complex calculation of vastu. But certainly use of the land examination, vastu calculation and knowledge of "Vedh" (piercing) is very much needed.

The Land examination and purification include "Bhumi Shalya Shuddhi" is executed before any construction. Then doing vastu calculation to prepare a plan and design. Calculation of Aay, Vyay, Nakshatra, Disha (direction), Chandra Rashi (moon sign) etc. 21 parts of the vastu and balance to gather with the host, host village (city) or with the God. Construction works has been started with needed religious ceremony (like Khat Murhat, Shila Ropan, Vastu Shanti etc.) after the above mentioned work has been done.
